February

Life here is pretty mellow. Academics haven't gotten intense yet, and exchange students are doing what they do best, enjoying the new land.

Two surprisingly funny culture shocks--
1) Asked a lady beside me of where a mall was located and she replied, "I'm not so sure.. forgive me."
2) Was running in the evening as usual when I came across construction at work ahead.  A truck was backing out, and my instinct was to slow my pace to a halt.  But the worker outside yelled at the driver (not me) at the top of his lungs, "STOP! STOP!!!" Wow. Didn't expect that at all.

So I've experienced some "firsts" during my first month here--
1) Drinking water while taking a shower or washing up from the same faucet
2) Getting stopped by an employee from a model agency, demanding me of my contact info
3) Sleeping on a bed without a mattress cover. Ghetto or stingy? or just purely down?
4) Using a traveler's pillow for my head and a jacket for my tummy for four months straight (in process)
5) Planning an international trip while already in one
6) Spending 500 on not materialism, but an experience of a lifetime... (hehe)
7) Attending a church service held inside a movie theatre (genius idea; good seats)

Overall, it's been a nice time shifting my usual focus from academics and planning, to just ENJOYING nature, community, people.  Real nice break to grow as a human -_-x ^_^

Dim sum at Din Tai Fung (Taiwanese roots). SOO JUICY and cute

Finishing off dinner with MK with desserts at Canele. Of course, over a conversation about education systems and backgrounds... freakin ajummahs man.

Biking at East Coast Park with EAP! Loooove! Pizza party, perfect finish.

Reached Changi with our bikes

My favorite bookstore thus yet, Page One.

Oh the good life of having an 8am M/W~
Goodnight!
